SHORT HISTORY OF THE ESTATE domaine du BANÉ

1800: Bonaparte was not Napoleon yet. Birth of Joseph Rodet , elder of the current owner. The property is in the family in the direct line until this day. Construction of an independant building in the 19th century called " cabote " which was apparently the first school of the village under Jules Ferry.

1918: Construction of the house next to the farm of le Bané by François Joseph Rodet (see photo), the grandfather of the actual owner.

1995: Back from a few years living in the USA, takeover of the family estate by the grand-daughter of François-Joseph Rodet and her husband Remy, Franco-Swiss for their third life (!) with the approval of their daughter born in the USA . Beginning of the restructuring of the entire estate. The approach is willingly ecological, in other words there is no single-culture but only poly-culture.  Re-parcellation, extension of the walnut grove ( region of AOP Grenoble walnuts) , planting fruit trees etc ... and conversion to a more natural and organic agriculture for all crops.

A certification (questioned each year and controlled by an independent body) which takes the 4 ecological criteria into account: biodiversity, water management, phytosanitary strategy (treatments) and soil management, therefore fertilization ( manure) as well as tillage.
